      This booklet aims to introduce Master2 students to machine translation and computer-assisted technologies (CAT). It provides an overview of the research that has been going on since World War II in the field of computational linguistics and natural language processing. The content will be partly historical and the main approaches will be presented in a largely intuitive way, allowing entry-level students to easily understand the main principles, without any background knowledge.
